progress

working on a content update, for a change of pace before working on the combat system. added 30-odd locations, bringing the count up to 44, and made sure each location had one combat and one noncombat encounter (though most have 3 and a few have more).  i'll probably get 0.3.1 released by the end of the week, and since it's coming up so often, i'll probably introduce persistent world date - things like the game recognizing whether or not you've met a certain person before - after that.

  1. I don't get the stats... like what do they all represent? Have a wiki page yet? I relize its an WIP but care to explain all the stats? Looks great so far, gonna give Fenoxo a run for his money I bet!

  2. well, most of the stats (that you're meant to see) should be pretty obvious. things like height, weight, eye color... just used to describe the character. the ones like strength, endurance, etc, are used in combat and sometimes checked for dialogue (high looks opens doors, etc). the big chunk of 'prefGetXFromY' are all intended to be behind the scenes. i could probably turn off the function that shows them, since they aren't strictly necessary for the player to see.

  3. HA! the PrefGetXFromY are the ones I was talking about! Were they formulated? Or were they just random. Might be better off letting the player choose what they enjoy. Ask the player what they like in a seris of questions. If a game tells me what I like, it feels a little too restricting. Kinda reminds me of FATAL's character generator... I don't know, I'm just a critic LOL! *mutters to self* I wish I can write games... *sigh* but hey, great job so far!

  4. when you answer the question "do you like men, women, both, or herms" at the start, that's what determines your preferences. as for fatal... now that you bring it up, i might have to turn that into a joke, somehow.

    1. Gotta have the option... "Try-sexual" *giggles* for all of the above. Just be warned asociating anything thing to FATAL... is not a good idea. Even in jest. just think of the punny head-lines... "A short-lived transformation text adventure turns F.A.T.A.L!" -- "The Internet joke from /tg/ about anal circumference stretched to far!"

    2. preferences just distinguish how much mental satisfaction you get from having sex with people/things. kind of like how most men can get off if you tickle their prostate, but not all of them will necessarily enjoy it.

  5. Ooo Ooo OH!! Fiddling with the character generation I got some impossible body builds! Check it... 157cm 120kg.... that's like 48.68 BMI!!!! Insanely dead obese. Human Female. maybe its just the metric option. Which is a plus, just having options, well played!
